JASON VS BECKY
PARTICIPTION-BASED EXPERIMENT

ELYSIUM AT THE COVE GALLERY, NOVEMBER 2012
 

A performative experiment in which visitors to an exhibition were asked by Jason & Becky ‘choose between us’. Jason & Becky, wearing red or yellow, then handed out the corresponding colour party hat and Connect 4 counter to anyone who picked them.

The experiment revealed the reluctance of those who knew the artists to choose between them, and also the inability of strangers to make a choice solely based on what they saw in front of them, with no apparent consequence.
